Gayle,
I ended up buying the amp, but I got the names mixed up. It's was a vibro-champ XD and not the super Champ XD. Comparing the specs they appear to be very similar amps except the vibro champ is 5 watts with 1 6v6 tube. Fender manuals describe the voices and fx's the same. I am really happy with the sound and never heard my guitar sound so good. I connected the 12 inch fender speaker from my blues deluxe to it and it sounds great. At 5 watts, there is more than enough power for playing at home.
Thanks for the tips.

That's great Gary! I think the main difference is the 10" speaker in the Super Champ XD, and one more 6v6 power tube. Sounds like you've got exactly what you need. You can go ahead and play it for a while, then should you decide to upgrade to a larger speaker, you've got that guy's name and phone number, you can always have a larger cabinet made with whatever size speaker you want. I'm glad you're happy with it.
