I said, "Bill, that´s very well done. My Nashville Classic is an early one, made in July, 2003. Comparing it with your picture it clearly has the rounded shoulder, not the more squared off one." And the cutaway joins the body at the 18th fret. I´ve got it right!

I own a Nashville Classic too. What a great guitar and I think of Paul and Chet everytime I pick it up. I couldn't sell it and I'm sure the first batch with the slightly off configuration sound the best (that's a joak and I haven't tried the new country gent yet - just trying to increase the resale value of the first ones). The only thing I did to mine was put a swivel flat handle on it and cut about an inch off the handle and rounded the corners. I can just grab the handle with my ring and pinky fingers when I need it and swivel it out of the way when I don't or when someone else uses my guitar.

I'm waiting for Gretsch to put this guitar out in a brown color similar to Chet's. I saw the orange ones and was tempted, but the brown is what I'm waiting for.
