Gretsch country gentleman hall of fame owners problem

Not that its a big deal,,, but look at your name plate on the headstock
Country Gentlman or Country Gentleman... it should be spelled Country Gentleman
Maybe Fender corp went to the post office, because they dropped off a letter.

I'm not seeing a picture of a nameplate but that would certainly make it a 'collectible'

It is really sad how badly simple spelling has deteriorated in this country and, apparently, no one thinks it's a big deal

Well isn't that something? Mine is perfect, "Gentleman" is spelled correctly. Could be a fluke between "batches" of guitars (?) I can tell you this: If you have one that is incorrect, e-mail Joe@gretsch.com (that's Joe Carducci, he is in charge of production and is a heck of a nice guy) I'm sure he will IMMEDIATELY send you out a new corrected name plate. Accidents do happen!

If i am not mistaken,, there was a early limited run of these guitars, which may have had correct spelling
on the nameplate which is why some are correct,,, mine if from a second run and , its seems many if not all of those are mispelled...

Looks like a batch got past quality control. I just received a new plate to put on my first generation (2004?) "Nashville Classic" and it's spelled correctly.

This whole thing is reminiscent of the run of Country Gentleman guitars back in mid to late 60's where the pickguard proudly proclaimed the model as a "Country Gentlemen"

I sure am loving my new Hall Of Fame... misspelled nameplate and all ! Corrected ones coming but I'm leaving the 'wrong' one on there and putting the 'correct' one in the case compartment.

That is true, but don't forget these are manufactured in Japan, NOT the United States.

And I think the words "Quality Control" would be somewhat of an oxymoron under these circumstances...

The Gretsch guitars made in Japan are miles better and more consistent than quite a few
that were made here in the United States.

My Gibson CG had a twisted neck out of the case and after waiting for 6 months for it Gibson
said it would be another 6 months for them to fix it. So much for American made being better!

Give me the Japanese made Gretsches any day.

Does it play good other than the nameplate? I am sure it does.
