Discussion of New CDs Available

I didn't get to CAAS this year and was wondering who all had new music available. Anything you guys thought was noteworthy is worth mentioning. I have heard Guy Van Duser's new one and it is a great one. Great job Guy! I have ordered Paul Yandell's "My Time" and am looking forward to listening to it. What else did you all like? All opinions are welcome.

I don't know if they are new, but they were new to me -- I picked up Paul Moseley's Just Pickin' and Robert Anderson's Acoustic Waves.

Just Pickin' was being played by the fellow who sells records in the lobby. I heard a version of Tzena, Tzena, Tzena...it was Chet derived but steel string based, great sounding, driving and had original arrangements. I had to pick up the CD. The whole album is like that track I heard - driving, solid thumb, great sounding acoustic, original arrangements for solo guitar, all tunes I love. I'm really glad I happened to hear it in the lobby or else I wouldn't have known about it. I'm digging into this one. It's like a lesson on how to arrange for solo guitar - driving, tasty, clean, straight. Yes!

The other CD, Acoustic Waves is quite different from that. I picked it up on the strength of hearing Robert Anderson playing one of the all original tracks in an "Up Close" workshop. The tune was called Chetology, which had such intricacies and unusual chords I immediately turned on to it. The tunes are Chet derived for sure, the later Chet nylon stylings, but go to new places. For me it feels like a new Chet album. Robert has a great sound and feel. I've been listening to this one over and over.

So two very different CDs but both Chet derived, both totally solo, both worth the drive to CAAS!

I was wondering if anyone here as a hobby had compiled a master list of all known fingerstyle guitar albums. It dont have to be complete I was just wondering if one existed. Years ago I started putting together all the albums I had on the computer as an archive of fingerstyle albums. I have not done that in recent years so I was wanting to catch up and I need to know what all is out there. It dont matter if they are out of print or not. If any of you artist would like to post your discography feel free to do so.
