I'm trying to restore my two 'fake' soundhole Chet Atkins SST's with their original truss rod covers. Looking for an original Gibson Chet Atkins SST truss rod cover with Chet's signature. Please email SHeaney85@gmail.com

I needed the Gibson/Chet Atkins sound hole insert for my CE. Of course Gibson didnt have any (but it doesnt hurt to inquire)...so any NOS items on ebay that came up, I contacted the sellers, just in case. Well someone was selling a NOS Volume/Tone control for a CE and I wrote them and they said they "would check". Sure enough, they knew someone that had gotten some NOS from the Montana plant and had one. 35 bucks later, I had it.

If you need parts for any of your Chet Atkins SST/CEs, I discovered Classic Ax in Nashville, TN has them all. I want to say I purchased soundhole covers for around $25-$35. I had repro's made of the Chet cover, but isn't the same as the original. I have the 1st, 2nd and at one time 3rd version of each SST. I recently sold the newer 3rd version, because ebony is too hard to maintain. Hopefully, one day I can replace it and complete the collection.
