That seems odd since there is the possibility of more play in the swivel arm whereas the stationary bracket and handle all the motion goes directly to the string bar.

There's a way to tighten up that free-play in the swivel handle . . .

1. Go to the hardware store and get a LEATHER CUP WASHER.

2. Loosen the strings enough to be able to swing the handle upward

3. REMOVE the nut & carriage bolt & remove the handle

4. SOAK the washer with 3-in-1 oil or WD-40

5. REASSEMBLE placing the LEATHER CUP WASHER between the handle and the bracket.

6. TIGHTEN the nut until you get the desired DRAG of the handle movement.

NOTE-The nut may need occasional re-tightening depending on how tight you like the tension.

7. Tune to pitch.

I've resolved many a loose Bigsby handle doing this . . .
If BRUTE-FORCE isn't working, you're not using enough ! ! !

We can't let you get away with that incomplete picture! We need another one of you HOLDING that guitar....preferably in a playing position. Then...the picture will be a good one!

Likewise, I just caught a break and ended up with one of these. It was a spur of the moment thing and I felt quite lucky that it worked out as it did. I played it in public for the first time at the Arizona Gretsch Roundup (held in Marana, AZ March 10) and was very happy with the sound. Good for Chet stuff, good for Rockabilly, C&W, Blues (surprisingly good for this) and anything else I could think of to play on it.
