The Chetboard

Hey everybody. First time to be on the CB in 3 weeks...had surgery w/ unexpected complications developing, kidneys shut down, etc.; finally released from hospital yesterday afternoon. I'm so weak that I can't yet grip my guitar neck to return to playing. I've always ackknowledged the Lord as the GIver of the ability to play music and thanked Him for the privilege; but now I've experienced it on an entirely new level. A shot given to me to prepare me for surgery has continued to leave a portion of my left hand partially w/o feeling. A portion of my surgery was to remove a part of my colon due to cancerous cells. I thought about Chet having a similar surgery in the 70s and realize that it must have been even more difficult for him since medical procedures had not yet advanced to where they are today. Anyway, I've missed reading your posts and look forward to catching up. Thanks for your prayers.

Thanks, guys. As therapy begins this week I'll try some hand/finger exercises. In the mean time,I am listening to some of my favorite recordings of Chet.
