The last of the Andrews Sisters, Patty, has passed away at the age of 94. After watching a few videos on YouTube, I came across a very pretty song from 1946. The song, "Rumors are Flying" features some great playing by Les Paul.

One of Les' experimetnal guitars was one he made out of aluminium. It worked fine at home but he debuted it onstage with the Andrews sisters withwhom he was touring at the time, When the spotlight was on him the guitar warmed up enough by the heat of the lights to throw it out of tune a bit. When the light was off him it went the other way. I believe the guitar got retired after that.
