Michael O'Dorn Update
Talked to Michael O'Dorn the other day. He recently had the 4th and final surgery performed on his hands. Now it's just a matter of healing and some therapy. He's having to wear a cast for about 4 weeks and says he expects to be playing again around the 1st of the year. Michael's not able to get online at this time and asked me to post for him that he says thanks to any of his friends who may frequent the Chetboard or to anyone else who may be concerned for your kind thoughts and prayers.

Re: Michael O'Dorn Update
Thanks for the post. I have thoroughly enjoyed my time with Michael O' Dorn during CAAS. What a nice guy and a willing teacher. He shows up every year and freely shares his knowledge with other players, young and old, who have learned so much from him. I regret that I did not try to look him up recently on a trip to northern California for a wedding. My wife and I had limited time but wanted to try to find him while we were there for a few days. I know he sometimes play gigs out there in NAPA valley at the wineries.

Michael O'Dorn is one of the good guys. On my first trip to the CAAS several years ago, Michael was the first one to greet me and hand me his guitar so that I could show him how little I knew. I certainly hope he has a full recovery. He is a wonderful player and a very good person.

Michael is my hero... You tell him that I want to hear him play more Merle tunes at CAAS next summer, so he needs to get those hands rested up and working well by then..
