MARTIN TAYLOR !!!!!!!!!! Never seen him live before. Hope I can make it to one of his shows.
Thanks for the link Joe. Hope to see you there.
I've been trying to make it back to the jamboree in Muhlenberg month in and month out since the last time I saw you there which has been well over a year. If you see anyone I know up there tell them I miss them. If dispatch can get me off the road in time I'll be there in August. I'll just try not to play any wrong notes, that way you guys can make me sound good

Meanwhile I'll be looking forward to what I believe may turn out to be one of the best Chet Conventions in a long time.

It looks like another great line up, what an incredible amount of talent in one place.

When I first saw Martin Taylor, back in the mid 90's he had long red hair with a pony-tail and no glasses. He may have worn contacts. He looks quite different and "academic" these days. He is very knowledgeable with fingerstyle jazz and all of the theory. I understand that Chet regarded him highly.
I also saw that Wayne Johnson was also performing. Bob Taylor took him out with him on a Taylor tour a couple of years ago and they came to Sweetwater in Ft. Wayne, Indiana, so I went down there and was very impressed with him. We talked afterward and he had been with Manhattan Transfer for at least a couple of decades and had just finished a 3 year continuous gig with them in Las Vegas. I saw him primarily using a flat-pick but had a lot of control with it. I don't know how many of you know about him but I think you'll enjoy him and he was very personable. He also happens to live in Southern California, close to one of my daughters.

Martin Taylor is not to be missed.
I put together a show for him Toronto a few years ago and it still ranks as one as one of my very favorites.
My impression is that he is far more intuitive than he is "knowledgeable" but, either way, this cat can play!

I'm really looking forward to seeing Pete H. I have yet to see him live. I'll be there in a matter of hours.

I saw Pete Huttlinger play at the 2005 convention. He played at the open mike one morning on the same day I played a couple of songs there. Fortunately, he played before I did or I would have choked big time. He was so smooth and played with a lot of fire.
