The only thing I've heard so far I don't like. There was a first time attendee last year named Joseph Angelastro who just blew me away with his playing. I heard from a mutual friend that he's planning on playing the open mic this year. If he's gonna be on the program no one's notified him yet.

Mark Pritcher usually posts a link to the program here on the board a few days before the convention begins. I'm under the impression he doesn't finalize the program until then. Gotta appreciate the time he puts into organizing things!

What I do sometimes is go to websites of performers that I'm wondering about to look at their tour schedules. Sometimes they will actually have CAAS on their schedule, and other times they may have nothing scheduled as part of their tour.

I checked a few artist schedules and see that Tommy Emmanuel will be there of course..., Frank Vignola, Pete Huttlinger, Pat Bergeson, Brooks Robertson, Muriel Anderson, and other performers from the from Tues night Chet Tribute show in Franklin TN can always be counted on to be a part of the convention schedule. Pat Kirtley, Bob Saxton, Lyn Clapp, etc, etc, are always there and many other regulars will show I'm sure. It looks like a good lineup. Looking forward to being there for the entire convention.... Hope to see you there.... it never dissapoints !

Hi Folks,
This will be my first year at the CAAS. I’m really looking forward to it as I’ve wanted to go for years but just never had the time due to either family or my work schedule. Well this is my time now and I’m going. I’ve pre-registered with Carol and Mark and spoke with a gentleman here locally in Houston that helps out and has been involved with it for the past 22 years. Jeff is his name and he was very helpful, good friends with Mark and Carol. If anyone has any other suggestions please let me know. I can’t really find that much about it or people that are going on the internet??? But from what I understand there are a lot of people going though….
Thanks

This will also my first time. I've heard good stories aboiut the last years. I've learned some fingerstyle classics. Hope to find much inspiration there.

Hi Hans.. I think you will find lots of inspiration at CAAS and as a bonus, the Chet Atkins Exhibit at the CMHOF might be of interest to you. If you get into Nashville on Tuesday, you might want to also consider going to the Chet Tribute Concert in Franklin TN.. That's about 20 miles south of Nashville. It is presented by Artisan Guitar (check their website) and many of the CAAS performers will be there. It's a good way to get into the spirit of things :)
