You know guys there is someone that tries to put stuff out on the internet that has the biggest ego of anyone I've ever known. He or she portrays themselves as good or sometimes better than Chet! However, you will never see this person playing anything just kicking it off by himself the way Chet, Dad, SW, TE do and did and show what they can do naturally without a backing track. Ever ask yourself why? This person claimed so many things that they were going to do, give away and claimed he/she was near death, got people to invest in things and no one ever got their money back.
Just asking... who does these things? And let's not forget at the multiple fake people this person tried to be, boy or girl who came on to this form and pretended to be just to be found out that it was all fake. Anyone can go on the internet and see the comments from people who were scammed.

The bottom line here is, Chet Atkins was Chet Atkins, whose since moved on to bigger and better things in the great beyond . . .
There will be players constantly emerging, who will attempt mimicking Chet's playing, which is OK as long as they don't claim to take Chet's place with his fans -aka US!
If they claim their playing is heavily influenced by Chet's playing, that's one helluva complement to Chet, and they shouldn't be blasted for their appreciation and devotion to Chet and his artistry.
Years ago, there was a guy, blue guitar, tared n' feathered on here for his shameless self-promotion, never to be mentioned again on here -ever again!

Mike, I appreciate your post! However, if you truly follow blue guitar man you would be able to see he is a fake. I know CA estate is monitoring blue guitar and will take actions.
Blue guitar man is a narcissist, and I would give you friendly advice to stay away from blue guitar.
It's really amazing how the AI can be used to put up fake stuff. There are people out there who actually know Blue guitar and know what kind of person blue guitar is.
All I can say is watch your back.

I've been on the Chetboard for a long time, going back to when it had been constantly alive with QUALITY COMMENTARY from Paul Yandell, and many other interesting posters too many to recall at this particular time.
I'm well aware of David Paul -aka "Blue Guitar!" From what I remember, there'd been several posts by someone who made one big mistake, pissin' on a campfire at the wrong campground, The Chetboard!
In the future, they'll be other's claiming to either be the resurection of, or the "new and improved Chet Atkins," as well as others admitting their playing style is heavily influenced by Chets' artistry. There will always be fakes and scammers, just like the spam $685.00 PayPal invoice in my inbox this morning that I know absolutely nothing about.
Like I said in my previous post, "Everyone on the Internet is fulla sh!t until proven otherwise!" Keep that under yer pillow at night, and you'll always be safe from the Boogieman!
I used to visit the Chetboard daily; however, there's rarely anything new being posted on here anymore:-(~
Maybe, the CB's due for a facelift -maybe another message board platform to re-spark interest. I seriously doubt that Chet Atkins is being forgotten about, as he was, still is, and will continuing being a force inspiring future generations of players to come, as he's the one and only, "Mister Guitar" -accept no substitutes!
I'm old, pushin' 70, and realize it everytime I'm in a store where there's modern-day rock music blasting away. I think to myself, "How the hell can anyone listen to that crap?" Then, it all of a sudden hits me, that's what adults use to say about popular music kids my age listened to 60-years ago.
All said and done, they'll undoubtedly be music scolars in the not too distant future, studying and analyzing the guitar style of Chet Atkins, as a truly American artform . . .

Anyone DP have had any involvement with from his personal life to his attempts at a music career has ended up conned or taken advantage of in some way.

The worst part here is he caused a lot of people to leave the Chetboard. I mean Jack Baker signed off here and he doesn’t like me now because he thought I was racist toward Tia. She got had by that SOB too!
