Arthel "Doc" Watson's wife and life partner passed away recently
Strange how some people go to be with there partners so soon.

This is sad news but I am glad they are reunited tonight. I saw Doc many times and bought all his Albums and he was a class act. He turned his handicap into some of the best music flatpick guitar has ever known. Thanks for sharing the info about Rosa Lee.

That is sad news. In his shows and interviews Doc talked often about how he and Rosa Lee first got together always speaking of her with respect and love.
I just finished watching former UNC President Bill Friday's "North Carolina People" interview on UNC-TV with Doc after his first Merlefest show. It is ironic that Bill Friday, Doc and Rosa Lee Watson passed away this year. All in there own ways were treasures of North Carolina culture.
