I would like an explaination of where my posts are?

Welcome to the new Chetboard!

Is it just me that finds this exchange just a tad demeaning to this board?

Wes, you come off as infatuated with DP... the syrupy descriptions and promotions, imo, depreciate any value that DP has due. If you would, Wes, take just a second and read the what this board is designed for, particularly "SPECIFICALLY, the life and music of history's great guitar player, Mister Guitar, Chet Atkins"...not you, nor your posts, nor your spamming of DP and his agenda.

Mr. Jay,
I am not infatuated by nothing in life and especially not DP. I just see that there is biased opinions here and I don't like bias. I don't agree with you about demeaning to the board, infact for the most part I like everyone here that I have been able to meet and communicate with. I want to make it clear...... Chet Atkins is absolute Tops in my book, I put him on a pedestal reserved for Greatness. As far as you insulting my intelligence I won't stand for that. This is not spam, It is discussion. I fight for fairness to ALL artists, I think you will agree that Chet would want that. Don't tell me what this board was designed for because I know exactly what it was designed for...... Chet Atkins discussion and ALL related forms of his music and artist. ALSO THAT IS WHERE YOU AND SOME OTHERS GO WRONG......THERE IS NO AGENDA. I WILL POST WHAT I WANT AND WHEN I WANT ON A PUBLIC BOARD MADE FOR POSTING TOPICS THAT FIT THE BOARD. THIS IS NOT A HITLER RUN BOARD BUT IT SURE HAS TURNED INTO THAT FOR SOME REASON

i just thought about it and i do agree it is demeaning to Chet Atkins name to have a board run this way that the music that he worked so hard to create and artists take his work and work hard to further his work only to have their name bashed and then trashed here. Go as far as to spend many many hours and many many dollars to produce Albums that will further his Legacy and Style only to have it deleted the first time it is available. So how demeaning is that and what does that say about this. Yes I am ticked off and don't mind anyone knowing it. I have been a loyal follower of this board and ALL recording fingerstyle guitarist in the Style of Mr. Guitar, Chet Atkins. There is room here for ALL, not just a select few. Unless you really understand my stance please don't post useless nonsense followup. This post was orginially for the administrator to post his response not for everyone to jump right in. Keep that in mind. That is it for me tonight. Sorry to go on and on but I want a resolution to this long standing issue once and for all.

boy, howdy do I wish I could stay away from this moil...

I'm not one to tell anyone how they should post, but I do notice a thing here.

When other posters run across a YouTube or a website they like they say something like:

"Hi. I found this guitarist (or site) and I think you all will enjoy him (or her)" and maybe run a short descriptive phrase. Then they post a link. They seldom take more than three or four lines to do ths. Then we have the option of clicking the link or not.

But it seems like every time there is a DP posting there has to be a Big Brag about how really Great this guy is and it goes on and on for ten or fifteen lines of single spaced text of what to some is Over The Top promotion.

Some feel that style is offensive and it is just as much their right to say so as it is for the pro DP people to post their half page ads.

David knows very well the history of why the posts get blocked. There was some bad blood stired up some years ago and he knows exactly what it was.

If he truly wanted to make peace he should try PMs maybe to the adminstrator or something rather than stirring up the herd publicly. Maybe it can get resolved.

Maybe not.

...that's how it looks to me...The opinion expressed above is my own and does not necessarily reflect the views of this station. Your mileage may vary...

That should do it.

Norm, I think you described it well. The DP history is much different from that of others whose efforts are posted here. This is why there can be no comparison made with them. Their posts are generally brief and humble. This often results in comments of encouragement and approval. When the
stage is set as if the Pope were visiting our communities it is unrealistic to expect the same type of response. I would also add that I see no other posters here who seem so busy that they are having to send their "ambassadors" to lay out the red carpet for their arrival.

I'm glad that it is acknowledged here that Chet reigned supreme, but also keep in mind that he always remained humble. His guitar spoke
for him and I've never heard from his own lips nor have read anything he wrote about himself that demonstrated anything other than his
humility.

Well here I go again, this proves that I am just plain not very smart to open myself up to more bashing as before BUT here is what I think. Nearly all of us know exactly who runs this board at no profit to him and very little appreciation for all the time he spends being the moderator. There has to be some rules to abide by and standards to adhere to or there would be nothing but chaos on here every day. The DP thing has been beaten to death on here and personally I don't care a whit about him or his music. My suggestion is simple: Create your very own DP board and then he and all his minions could log on and have a DP admiration frenzy every day and self promote to their hearts content. That would liberate all the others who just want to have our Chetboard as always so we would not have to see this DP stuff any longer. Wes I can envision you as moderator and then you could catch all the grief that our moderator now gets when some new "Greatest maestro of the guitar" comes along to take over the DP board.
BTW....A BIG Thank You to our moderator for all he does to provide us this fine board!!!! :D :D :D

Agreed Roger. Also all users should always remember that Chet's name and image are used with the kind consent of the Atkins family. Respect for their feelings should be observed at all times.

DP could learn some humility and recognize the part he played in the grand scheme of things.

The feelings of Chet's family are what matters in all of this.

Like I said before sometimes it is best to let sleeping dogs sleep.
