Friends, Bill Hartwick here in case no one recognizes me by my user name. Someone hacked into my laptop computer Sunday evening while I was on a WiFi network. I don't know if the virus was sucessfully launched or not but whoever did the hacking tried to put trojans, a worm virus, and I don't know what all on my machine.
I've swapped emails with a few of you on here at one time or other so if you get an email from
bill_hartwick_62@yahoo.com
with any kind of attachment please don't open it as it could be a worm virus. Actually I'd be careful if you get anything from anyone on the Chetboard as that worm could work its' way through anyone's adress book I've been in contact with.
I realize I could be over reacting here but better safe than sorry. I'd hate to ruin anyone's computer. ( I hope my own is not ruined as well! )
Re: Computer Virus
When I tried going in direct it didn't work well due to an impedance issue as I recall. Rande no doubt has his own war story to tell.

Re: Computer Virus
Create an e-maill address < 000@000.000 > in your e-mail client's address book/contact list.
This won't do ANYTHING for YOU other than keep any worms from being forwarded to your contacts e-mail addresses . . .
Other than that BE SURE you have GOOD anti-malware on yer computer, and KEEP IT UPDATED constantly ! ! !
