Does anybody know on what album did Chet record Cannonball Rag where he used his trademark 3-note pull-offs? I know I heard it many years ago and am sure I have the recording somewhere but can't find it. There are several versions on YouTube where he played it with other people, even Merle Travis (off that album they did together), but I can't find the version I remember. Any ideas?

Well remembered Jerome - that's a great album so I must dig it out and give it another listen as it's been while.
Buster B Jones teaches Cannonball Rag on one of his instructional DVDs - might have a look at that too...

I have listened to all three of the versions suggested and it's not any of them. Maybe I dreamed it, but I could have sworn I heard a Chet version many years ago where he did those 3-note rolls on the top 3 strings, maybe even on the 4th as well. I must have dreamed it! I've been trying to learn that version, in fact, I have it all worked out, I was just trying to listen to Chet to get it right. Sounds like I've been working on something that never existed!

The version on the album Me and Jerry, Chet Atkins and Jerry Reed has a lot of those roll going on throughout the tune.

https://misterguitar.us/discography/index.htmlHere is a link to all (I think) of Chet Atkins albums. Each one has a list of the songs on that album. You can search and see if you can find the album with the version you are looking for. Hope this helps.
