"Struttin"

Discussion of history's greatest guitar player.

"Struttin"

Postby tacomamanguy » Mon Jun 07, 2021 11:16 pm

I’ve listened to so many different guitar players play this song, but I have never heard
anyone play it the way it is being played here with this new arrangement.

This guitarist is the only one who has fooled me when I heard this song being played. You know how you hear a great
player doing this style ,but you know that it isn’t Chet. Chet had that magical blueprint and touch. This guy has that same touch
as Chet.

Here’s is “Struttin” redone with an orchestra and a clever interlude. Amazing arrangement and playing.

I've never heard that arrangement before! I got the original vinyl album "Me and My Guitar" when it first came out in 1977. If this is a 20 year tribute to '"Struttin", then it was recorded in 1997, which was 24 years ago! I'm wondering who this was and if it is part of an album?

Listen very closely to Chet’s recording along side this one. I believe they are one in the same. The sound/tone, the ghost notes are the same.
It appears someone took the Chet recording and add orchestration and some additional guitar harmony and lead parts all over dubbed over the original.

If it’s who I think it is nothing that conman does would surprise me.

I agree with the possibility of superimposing additional elements over the original!

Yeap, he's back at it! He want's everyone to believe he is as good as Chet, not even close. It's ashame he can't do anything original, instead of riding off Chet's back! Instead he just stays underground like a groundhog and peeps his head out every now and then. And lets not forget the money he has stolen from people and how he faked cancer.
