I had wanted to see and hear Lefty Frizzell perform but as usual a guitarist always gets my attention. Maybe I'm wrong but the guitarist seen at around 2:30 looks like a young Buck Trent to me although I know he is more known for his banjo playing and performs in Branson these days.

Re: a clip from the old Porter Wagoner show
Rich, I got to open with a group a few years ago for Lefty's brother David when he came to Michigan. I've not listened to either enough to be familiar with their music but only their names.

It's really neat that you opened a show for David Frizzell. Don't you think that the guitarist at around 2:30 is Buck Trent? One of the Hee-Haw cast?

Rich, I had to go back and look and yes, I agree that sure looks like Buck Trent to me! I also saw the spelling "Saginau" on the title and I don't know if that was a typo but we opened up for David in Saginaw!

That is BUCK Trent on the Video. He is from Spartanburg, S C. I knew him back in the late 60s when I was stationed in Charleston, SC He does things on his electric banjo that no one else can do.

Buck is a very good guitar player. I use to see Porters show any time I could and Buck played a lot of guitar.
