I rented and watched this George Clooney movie yesterday. It was OK but the reason I'm posting is that the sound track had a lot of guitar music which I presume is Hawaiian slack key guitar. Can anybody at this site elaborate on it? It sounded like the guitar was tuned very low in the bass strings. I enjoyed listening to it. It is fingerstyle that's for sure. Thanks.

Hi Rich, loved the music in the movie so I purchased the soundtrack. Great cd for a backyard bbq with friends I think. The liners notes do give info on the performers and writers. 18 tunes to enjoy. Roger

Two of the greatest slack key players are Led Kaapana and Keola Beamer. Check them out on You Tube or Amazon.

And a great instructional book/CD combination is "Masters of Hawaiian slack Key Guitar, by Mark Hanson.
That book would get you started
