Congratulations to Paul for his certified guitar playing through the years, and for his dedication to his mentor Chet Atkins. I was out pickin' Chet tunes at a book store and missed the presentation, but I did get back in time for the interviews and performances of Steve, Billy Edd, and Paul for the Country Music HOF. I hope a video of the presentation will be shown again. Thanks!

The Atkins family awarded it to Paul. They stated in the declaration that no more will ever be awarded. Merle Atkins presented the award along with Steve Wariner. Merle said something like "I heard from above, if you know what I mean" Paul told the whole story about how the award came about, including the part about Leona not wanting any more given out. I personally think Merle and her family did a wonderful thing for Paul, even though the original CGP award was his idea. Paul was really proud to receive it

Well, I missed it. I was in Dallas purchasing a new amp and by the time I got home it was all over with. I am overwhelmed by the good news. I am very proud for Paul. All of us have always been proud of him. If anyone deserves to have CGP after their name, Paul does. I am glad it is official now.
More details or videos would be most welcome. Inquiring minds want to know.
