I couldn't agree more with all the good things said about Chet on this thread. Chet always knew what the music needed. That's why he was ( and still is ) Mr. Guitar.

Lots of players do a good job of "hot dogging" it on Alabama Jubilee. Chet played Alabama Jubilee as fast as anyone but his speed deosn't sound rushed like most everyone else's does.

I visited Michael O'Dorn when I was in California last week and he told me about the time he gave Jerry one of his Cds with "Drive In" on it. Jerry said "Son, you better not be playing that ( Drive In ) too fast."

Phil, thanks for the link to Richard and Tommy. That was awesome! Those two can play as fast as anyone but can still slow down and let the music breathe too.

Since I was talking about Earl when I mentioned the bridge for sale I guess I mean a Brooklyn made Banjo bridge.

Hmmm... Gretsch used to make banjos in their New York factory and banjos have bridges...
