In 1972 when i was traveling to Nashville to work in studio B
producing records for outside artists with mike shockley. One
time Mike and i went to the airport to see chet and jerry reed
head off to a concert, i got to meet chet and chat with him. chet
was smooth and down to earth that i felt right at home. I live
in indiana and i knew his brother lowell atkins who lived in
kokomo at the time, i used to sell lowell bearings for his
electric motor shop in frankfort, indiana. lowell always told me
to go to RCA in Nashville and chat with chet. another time roy
and mike shockley let me sit in on a recording session for
jerry reed, man you talk about guitar pickin, i'll never forget.
