I had tried to meet Chet a few times over the years. The first time was I guess 1981 or 82. My family went to Nashville for vacation. My Dad said we were going to try to see Chet if he was in. His secretary said he was playing golf that day or he would see me. I was kind of disappointed, but I would'nt have been able to say a word to him if I did see him. I was that nervous. I thought and still do think of him like the kids now think of Micheal Jordan.

In 1996 I had Kirk Sand make me a guitar and I wanted to get it signed by Chet. I went to the convention and saw Kirk and Chet on the way to Kirks room and worked my courage up and Kirk took my picture with Chet. I know Chet was in a hurry but he was happy to let me get a picture with him. He is the nicest famous person I ever met. Chet did sign my guitar. I 'll always look up to him and pray for him.
