I was scheduled to play at Muriel Anderson's
All-Star Guitar Night in the summer of 1995 at the Stutler club in
Nashville. I had planned on attending my first ever Chet Atkins
Appreciation Society Convention that following weekend, and hopefully
get a glance of Chet.
Then, Lo and behold through the dark mysterious
shadows comes Chet with an assistant. He quickly noticed my 10-String
classical guitar and came over to say hi. I completely lost it!!!!! He
was so gracious. He let me have this great picture with him. I just
couldn't handle it alone, so I asked Happy Traum to join me in the photo
(Happy and I played together later on). And to my surprise, Preston
Reed walked by and jumped into the picture. I truly love this picture
as it is every aspect of guitar - the innovator(s), the educator, the
student(s), and the future. I also got a chance to play for Chet then
too. Talk about happy!!!!
