I was about 15 years old when I met Chet when he played at the Ambassador
Auditorium in Pasadena. My parents has some friends that worked for the
college there, and I was able to go back stage to meet Chet. I had played
for a couple of years and listened to my Dad's "Down Home" album. I must
have played "Salty Dog Rag" a million times. I told Chet I loved him, and I
was his biggest fan. I remember him being a real nice guy, and he encouraged
me to continue playing. This was my life long dream to meet Mr. Chet
Atkins. I will always remember him as the one who inspired me to play the
guitar.
