I'm now well into the Danny Boy arrangement from Solo Sessions. I find that with all those repeated notes at the beginning, you can easily get lost. But if you sing the lyrics in your head as you play, you can prevent losing your place in the tune.

On Londonderry Aire, I'm now working on the section immediately following the arpeggio section and preceding the outro.

I was pretty enlightened from the tab to see that he is using some lush barre chords, that are not so easy to play. (For my small hands) in fact, these particular chords are a bear! Chet made 'em smooth as butter..

That section was quite imposing at first, and I just could NOT do it. However I soldiered on and worked on it for the past several days. Snowed in, so had more time to work on Chet stuff. And, hey! It's magic! I can now play the section pretty decent. So I'm pretty tickled with myself.

I had in years past mastered the arpeggio part and other parts, so now my goal is to get them all put together seamlessly.

I'm sort of happy with myself.

But the work never ends!
