Very fascinating for me, cause I start to play guitar when I was 25. At that time I have no idea who were Atkins, Reed and other pickers.

I met Joe & Rose Lee Maphis my senior year in high school (1953) at Town Hall Party where I went to hear Merle Travis. Joe & Merle told me about Chet, whom I had never heard of. I searched music stores for his records the next day, and finally heard Chinatown. I was hooked, and have been a life-long fan of all three players. I met Chet at his RCA Victor office in 1965, where he invited my wife and I into his private office, and played for the two of us for an hour. Ray, I first heard you at CAAS, where you sounded more like Chet than anyone I have heard, save Paul Yandell. I hope you will p :D lay some more on YouTube. Regards, John L.
